About the Barn Door Hardware Store
We're a family-owned specialty shop founded by Evan and Hayley Christensen, based in Bend, Oregon. Since 2016 we've helped over 10,000 customers spec, source, and install barn door hardware — and we're still the ones answering the phone when you call.
Hear It From the Founder
Watch Evan share the full story on the Founder Freedom podcast — how a bathroom with no door turned into a barn door hardware business, why we've stayed off Amazon, and what "human-first" actually means in a product category this technical.
How it started
It started with a flaky handyman and a bathroom with no door. Faced with a real privacy problem and no one to fix it, Evan decided to figure out the barn door installation himself — and quickly discovered that finding the right hardware was harder than it should be. Track profiles, roller weight ratings, door clearances: the information was scattered, the product listings were vague, and nobody online seemed to actually know their stuff.
So we built the store we wished had existed.
What we do differently
We specialize exclusively in sliding and barn door hardware — that focus is intentional. We carry trusted brands like Goldberg Brothers, and every recommendation we make comes from genuine familiarity with how this hardware performs in real installations.
We've also made a deliberate choice to stay off Amazon. That's not an oversight — it's a reflection of what we think good service looks like in a technical product category. When you buy from us, you get a real person who can talk through your project, not a listing and a return label.
Who we're here for
Homeowners, contractors, interior designers — if your project involves a sliding or barn door, we're set up to help. We can spec kits from scratch, work through track length for non-standard openings, and talk through door weight limits, floor guide placement, and soft-close options.
