6-Door One-Way Bifold Barn Door Hardware Kits

Technical diagram illustrating the operation of a 6-door one-way bi-fold system, showing all six folded door panels stacked to the left side of the overhead track.

Six-door one-way bifold hardware uses six panels arranged as three 2-panel assemblies that fold and stack entirely to one side — all six panels compress into a 15 in stack on the pivot side, leaving the full opening clear. It's the right configuration for large openings up to 285 in where wall clearance is available on one side only. Goldberg Brothers J top mount only — standard and heavy duty, all 17 finish colors, made to order in the USA.

Common Questions

Choose 6-door when your opening exceeds the 4-door one-way's coverage range, or when the panel width required for a 4-door setup would make individual panels too wide for the door material you're using. Six panels allow the same opening to be covered with narrower individual panels — useful for hollow core or lighter-weight materials where very wide single panels may warp. See our 4-door one-way collection for comparison.

Approximately 15 in for the folded stack — three 2-panel folds at 5 in each. You also need clearance in front of the opening on the pivot side as the panels project forward while folding. The non-pivot side needs only 1 in of wall overlap for a standard asymmetrical fully clear setup.

With six panels folding to one side, a face-mounted hanger like J-strap would be sandwiched inside the panel stack as the doors fold, preventing the clean 5 in per fold stack depth. J top mount attaches to the top edge of the door with nothing on the door face, so all six panels stack tightly without interference.

No — soft close is not available for any bifold configuration.

No — both Goldberg Brothers tiers use wall-mounted bottom pivots. No floor drilling required on either side of the opening.
