Unlike decorative rollers where the design is part of the roller itself, accent trims are a separate piece that swaps on and off independently, so you can change the look without replacing any hardware.
Why accent trims instead of ornate rollers
Some barn door hardware comes with decorative designs built directly into the roller itself — wagon wheels, spoked designs, and similar styles where the ornament and the roller are one piece. The tradeoff is that if you ever want to change the look, you have to replace the entire roller assembly.
Accent trims work differently. The roller stays put — it's the trim piece that carries the design, and it attaches and detaches independently. If your style changes, or if you want to rotate designs seasonally, you swap the trim rather than the hardware. One customer's use case that illustrates this well: different sports trims for each season — baseball in spring, football in fall, basketball or hockey in winter. The hardware never moves. Only the trim does.

Accent trims require two bolt attachment points with centerlines exactly 3-1/2 in apart. This measurement is specific to three Goldberg Brothers heavy duty hanger styles:
