Configuration

Good choice if you're building shelves onto the door face — the rollers stay behind the door, so the face stays clear.

Single bypass has a mandatory center overlap where the doors meet — 6" with standard rollers, 9" with spoke wheels. It can't be adjusted away. It still opens fully; the overlap only describes the closed position.

Measure the finished opening itself, not the door. Inches.

Where is it going?

That narrows it to stainless steel — the only line we carry rated for outdoor or coastal use. Powder-coated steel is interior-only, and rust isn't warranted on it.

4 What you're mounting to
Structure above the opening

Every install needs a header board — a 1x6 hardwood board minimum, lag-bolted into the studs. It spreads the load, and it lets the track bolt down anywhere along its length instead of only where studs happen to land. Never straight into drywall.

Can we look at ceiling mount?

Ceiling mount is the fallback when there's no wall structure to work with. It's the Quick Ship line only, 220 lbs, in matte black or brushed nickel — and it needs solid joists plus exactly 6" between the top of the door and the ceiling. Not more, not less.

Ceiling mount isn't compatible with bifold, so we'll need to work out backing another way. Tell us what's behind the wall below and we'll go from there.

Measure from the wall to the face of the trim, at the point the door has to pass — the exact number, not a range. Fractions are fine. No trim in the way? Write none. Can't get to it? Write not sure.

Trim that deep needs heavy duty — standard duty's included spacers reach 1" at most. We'll spec it that way in your quote.

Past 1-1/4" we need to talk before you order — that's beyond what even the heavy duty trim clearance kit reaches. Good news: you're already on the right form.

Heads up: the trim clearance kit isn't available for bypass configurations. We'll work out clearance another way.

5 Track length
Do you need a custom track length?

The trade-off, stated plainly: a custom-length track is a custom order and can't be returned. Free isn't the same as risk-free, so let's get the number right together before anything gets cut.

Cutting it yourself on site is possible, but it exposes raw steel at the cut, needs a rust inhibitor on that edge, and voids the track's warranty. Since the factory cut is free, there's no reason to go that way.

6 Hardware preferences

All optional. "Recommend for me" is a completely normal answer — it's most of what we do.

Standard duty kits come in matte black, black, arch bronze, and silver metallic. The full color range is heavy duty.

Worth knowing: the straight top mount is standard duty only and rated 75 lbs per door. If your doors are heavier than that, we'll point you somewhere else.

Tell us which one below. The nine designer colors — PC Chrome, Regal Red, Rocket White, Blue Ribbon, Flint Gray Texture, Dark Gray Texture, White Bronze Texture, Silver Vein, and Copper Vein — are custom orders and can't be returned.

Soft close?

If you were hoping for soft close: it isn't available for this configuration. It's offered on single track sliding, double bypass, and triple bypass only.
