2-Door Bifold Barn Door Hardware Kits

Two-door bifold hardware uses two panels hinged together that fold accordion-style beside the opening — one end pivots from a fixed bracket, the other slides along the track. It's the right configuration when wall clearance beside the opening is too limited for a standard sliding door and you need the opening to fully clear. This collection covers Goldberg Brothers J-strap and J top mount kits in standard and heavy duty, plus house value line options — for the full bifold buying guide and sizing formulas, see our bifold hardware collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

The 2-door bifold has all panels stacking to one side — the pivot side. If that's workable for your space and the opening is under 93 in wide, 2-door is the simpler system. The 4-door biparting splits into two assemblies that stack to opposite sides — the better choice for wider openings or when you want symmetrical access from both sides of the opening. See our 4-door biparting collection or our bifold buying guide for a full comparison.

Very little — the folded panel stack is approximately 5 in wide for Goldberg Brothers hardware and approximately 6 in wide for the house value line, regardless of individual panel size. This is what makes bifold viable where a standard sliding door isn't: instead of needing a full door width of clear wall on one side, you only need that small stack width, plus clearance in front of the opening as the panels project outward while folding.

It depends on the brand. Goldberg Brothers bifold hardware uses a wall-mounted bottom pivot on the pivot side — no floor drilling required. House value line uses a floor-mounted pivot. If you have finished flooring you can't penetrate, or if the opening has no floor surface beneath it (a cabinet opening, for example), choose a Goldberg Brothers kit.

No — soft close is not available for any bifold configuration. It's available for single sliding and double bypass hardware only.

Yes — Goldberg Brothers bifold kits include handles, color-matched to the finish you select at checkout. House value line bifold kits do not include handles. This is the only kit type in our lineup where Goldberg Brothers includes handles as standard.
