Shims also function as drilling templates — use them to mark consistent, accurate roller hanger mounting hole positions before drilling. Roller hanger hardware, track, and all other sliding hardware are sold separately.

Wood expands and contracts based on the humidity and temperature of its environment. A cabinet door or shutter panel built from wood sourced locally — from a lumber yard or home improvement store near you — is already acclimated to your climate. It will behave more predictably and stay more dimensionally stable than material that's shipped across the country from a different climate zone.

This matters especially for shutters in bathrooms or other humid spaces, where wood movement is more pronounced. Sourcing locally and wrapping with the edge wrap channels gives you both the stability of acclimated wood and the rigidity of a steel-wrapped perimeter.
