The U Channel wall mounted guide is the wall-mounted floor guide for bypass barn door configurations. Unlike bracket-style roller guides that would block an outer bypass door, the U Channel design allows both bypass doors to pass through it freely — the channel wraps around the door edge or rides in a bottom slot, providing guidance without obstructing lateral door travel.

It can be used in two ways: the U-channel flange wraps around the door edge (no slot needed), or the flange rides inside a slot in the door bottom (1/4 in wide × 7/8 in deep). Two L-bracket attachments are included for doors up to 2-1/4 in thick; adjustment slots in the bracket allow fine-tuning to match the door thickness. Common Questions

Why does bypass need a different guide than single track?

In a bypass setup, the outer door travels past the inner door's position. A bracket-style roller guide mounted to the wall would block the outer door's travel path. The U Channel design allows both doors to pass through it — the channel guides whichever door is passing without obstructing the other. Standard wall-mounted roller guides are not compatible with bypass.

Does the door need a slot in the bottom?

No — this guide can be used either way. When used without a slot, the U-channel flange wraps around the door's bottom edge. When used with a slot, the flange rides inside the slot instead. The slotted configuration provides more positive guidance; the unslotted configuration works with any door as-is.

How do I adjust it for my door thickness?

Two L-bracket attachments are included — one for thinner doors and one for thicker doors up to 2-1/4 in. Select the bracket that fits your door thickness, then use the adjustment slots in the bracket to fine-tune the flange position until the guide sits correctly against the door edge. No tools beyond a screwdriver are required.
