Common Questions

When your opening is too wide for a single door panel to cover comfortably, or when you prefer the symmetrical look of two doors meeting in the middle. A single door covering a 60 in opening would need to be a very large panel — heavy, expensive to ship, and visually dominant. Two 32 in panels covering the same opening look more proportional and are easier to handle during assembly and installation. As a rough guide, openings wider than 36 in often look and function better with a biparting setup.

Yes — both door panels are identical in construction. Each panel ships with its own complete set of boards and assembly hardware. Assemble both panels the same way before hanging either one. Plan for 2–3 hours total for door assembly before installation.

Every kit ships with decorative diagonal pine panels for both doors — optional to install. They let you create a single X, Z pattern, or arrow design on each panel. Installing them is entirely your choice — if you prefer the clean vertical plank look, simply set them aside. The panels are included so you have the option.

The kit is configured as a matched set — both panels come in the same selected stain. If you need two different finishes, contact us at info@thebarndoorhardwarestore.com before ordering and we can advise on the best approach.

We'd almost always recommend that approach for anyone sourcing doors locally — it's significantly better value. See our hardware kits collection for biparting options, or email us and we can help you select the right kit for your doors.
