Common Questions

Each side of a 12-door biparting stack has six panels — the same as a 6-door one-way configuration. J-strap hardware mounts to the front face of each door, and in a six-panel stack those roller assemblies obstruct the panels from folding cleanly and can scratch adjacent panels. J top mount hardware mounts to the top edge of each panel, keeping all door faces completely clear so all six panels on each side can fold and stack without interference.

Three situations: panels over 62.5 lbs each, panels thicker than 1-3/8 in, or panels wider than 24 in or taller than 84 in. Heavy duty handles up to 200 lbs per panel, 2-1/4 in thick, and 48 in × 108 in. If all specs fall within standard duty range, standard duty hardware is less expensive and fully sufficient.

For a fully clear opening, 15 in of clear wall is needed on each side — six panels fold into three 2-panel folds, each taking 5 in of depth, for 15 in per side. A minimum 1/2 in clearance is also required between the end of the track and any adjacent wall on each pivot side — this allows the pivot-side panels to rotate freely during operation.

Almost certainly yes. Tracks over 7 ft 6 in (90 in) ship in multiple segments with a connecting plate included. For a 12-door biparting with a fully clear 144 in opening the total track is 174 in — well over 90 in — so a split track applies. Delrin is a quiet engineered polymer wheel — an upgrade from the standard steel wheels. If your panels are under 100 lbs each, Delrin wheels roll more quietly. If your panels are over 100 lbs, steel wheels are the right choice for the load. Delrin is available in black finish only.
