Straight Strap Cabinet Barn Door Hardware Kit

Door weight: Up to 75 lbs per panel. This kit is sized for cabinet doors and shutter panels — not full-size solid wood interior doors.

Door thickness: 3/4 in to 1-1/8 in. Thicker than that and you're outside this kit's range; see the full-size straight strap kit, which takes 1-3/8 in to 1-3/4 in.

Door width: Your panel must be wider than the opening. Plan for 2 in of overlap on each side — opening + 4 in — or opening + 6 in where more coverage looks better. If space is tight, 1/2 in per side is the minimum functional overlap, but treat that as a floor rather than a target. For biparting, each panel = (opening + 4 in) ÷ 2.

Door height: Opening height + 1 in for top coverage. Unlike full-size sliding hardware, cabinet kits don't carry a floor gap figure in the height math — the panel hangs above whatever surface is below it, and there's no floor guide setting a fixed clearance.

Clearance above the door: 4 in required between the top of the panel and whatever sits above it — header, cabinet frame, shelf, or ceiling. Measure from the top of the finished panel, not the opening.

Backing above the opening: The track needs solid backing at its mounting points. In most cabinet installations the cabinet frame or a reinforced header already provides it. If yours doesn't, install a minimum 1×6 hardwood board — oak, maple, or poplar, not pine — extending past the track to the next structural support point on each side. Never mount to drywall alone.

Trim beside the opening: If cabinet face frame, casing, or trim projects from the wall, add the 1/2 in trim clearance kit from the options above. It stands the track off the wall so the panel clears the projection. Not included in the base kit.

Fastener finish: clear zinc with Raw Steel, Silver Metallic, and PC Chrome; black oxide with Matte Black Texture, Bronze Texture, Black, and Arch Bronze; powder coated to match on the remaining ten colors — Jacob's Gold, Rustic Brown, Regal Red, Rocket White, Blue Ribbon, Flint Gray Texture, Dark Gray Texture, White Bronze Texture, Silver Vein, and Copper Vein. The straight strap is face-mounted, so the bolt heads sit on the panel face and are visible once installed. If you'd rather they matched on one of the seven that don't, the touch-up paint option above lets you paint them.

The wall-mounted adjustable guide attaches beside the opening and keeps the bottom of the panel tracking straight without drilling into the floor or cabinet base. It adjusts to the panel thickness.

For the 2-door biparting option, hardware quantities are doubled and both panels share the single track.

The trim clearance kit is not included — select it above if cabinet face frame or casing projects from the wall.

A pull handle, latch, and flush pull are not included — add them before ordering to avoid a second shipment.

The track must be at least 2× the panel width so the panel slides fully clear of the opening — the same rule as full-size barn door hardware. Measure the panel, not the opening.

• Single door: 2× panel width — e.g. an 18 in opening → panel = 18 + 4 = 22 in → 44 in track
• Biparting (2 panels): 4× each panel's width, which is the same as 2× the combined width — e.g. a 36 in opening → each panel = (36 + 4) ÷ 2 = 20 in → 80 in track

The lengths listed in the options above are stock sizes, 18 in through 144 in. They ship as ordered and return under the standard 25-day window. If your calculated length falls between sizes, order the next size up.

Goldberg Brothers cuts track to length at the factory and applies the powder coat after cutting, priced the same as the next standard size — but a length cut to order is a custom order and can't be returned, so confirm your measurement first.

Goldberg Brothers rollers use sealed bearings that run dry. Do not lubricate the track or rollers. Silicone spray, WD-40, and white lithium grease all attract dust, build up in the channel, and make the panel harder to roll, not easier. If a panel starts to drag or squeak, the cause is almost always debris in the track — wipe the channel with a dry cloth and check that the hardware is still tight.
