Yes — the U-guide is specifically designed for doors without a bottom slot, and edge wrap is the most common reason a barn door won't have one. The two-piece U-guide adjusts to the door thickness and wraps around both sides of the door bottom without requiring any modification to the door or wrap.

Yes — any unslotted door works with the U-guide. If your door came without a slot and you'd prefer not to cut one, this is the right guide. The only limitation is that it requires drilling two screws into the floor. If you can't drill into your floor, see the All-in-One guide, which can mount to the wall instead.

The two pieces mount independently to the floor on either side of the door bottom, spaced to match the door thickness. The gap between them constrains the door from swinging while still allowing it to slide freely. Each piece can be repositioned in its mounting slot to fine-tune the fit.
