Total system weight capacity: 220 lbs combined across all doors.
Door thickness: 1-1/4 in to 1-3/4 in. The 1-1/4 in minimum is slightly lower than most bypass styles, making diamond a compatible option for thinner door panels.
Ceiling clearance above door: 8 in required.
Door gap when closed: A minimum 2 in gap between doors is recommended. No mandatory overlap.
Wall header: A solid header above the opening is required. If there is no existing header or backing in the wall, we recommend installing a minimum 1×6 hardwood board (3/4 in thick × 5-1/2 in wide) that extends past the length of the track to the next stud or structural support point on each side. No solid header and cannot install one? See ceiling mount hardware.
Door width: Each door must cover roughly half the opening, plus the chosen wall overlap on the outer edge, plus the planned overlap between the two doors at center. For standard rooms plan for 2 in of wall overlap on the outer edge; for bedrooms and bathrooms, 3 in gives better privacy. See our measuring guide for full door sizing formulas.
Door height: Measure from finished floor to the top of the rough opening and add 1 in. The extra inch covers the top of the opening while leaving 1/2 to 1 in of clearance at the bottom for the door to slide without dragging. If you have thick carpet, check that clearance is adequate along the full travel path before ordering.
Track length: See track length section below.
