Common Questions

Three situations: your panels weigh more than 62.5 lbs each, your panels are thicker than 1-3/8 in, or your panels are wider than 24 in or taller than 84 in. Heavy duty handles panels up to 200 lbs each, 2-1/4 in thick, and 48 in × 108 in. Reclaimed wood, oversized panels, and thick slab doors are the primary drivers. If all three specs are within standard duty range, standard duty hardware is less expensive and fully sufficient. Note also that heavy duty needs 6-1/2 in of ceiling clearance against 5-1/2 in for standard duty.

Only if your panels are 100 lbs or less each. Delrin is rated to 100 lbs per panel, half what the standard steel wheels carry — so on a panel that needed heavy duty in the first place, it isn't an upgrade you can take. Below that threshold it's worth considering: Delrin is a polymer wheel, so it rolls more quietly and with less vibration, which matters for a bedroom, bathroom, or shared wall. It's also black only, so on any non-black finish you lose the color match. Steel ships by default and carries the full 200 lbs per panel.

Match it to your actual panel thickness — the two builds ship different fastener lengths. J-strap hangers bolt through the panel face, so a thicker panel needs longer carriage bolts, and the thicker build also takes 6 in lag bolts rather than 5 in. If your panels are exactly 1-3/4 in, select the 1-3/8 in to 1-3/4 in option. Email us if you're unsure.

It attaches at the bottom of the two center-facing panels — the ones that meet in the middle when the doors are closed — and holds them aligned and flush against each other for a clean, consistent center seam. The kit includes one alignment plate set, two pieces. Only biparting configurations need one; a one-way setup has no center joint.

Eight of the seventeen. The nine designer colors — PC Chrome, Regal Red, Rocket White, Blue Ribbon, Flint Gray Texture, Dark Gray Texture, White Bronze Texture, Silver Vein, and Copper Vein — are custom orders and can't be returned for any reason. Everything else returns under the standard 25-day window with pre-approval and a 25% restocking fee.
