Metal wheels are recommended specifically for doors over 150 lbs — for anything lighter, the nylon wheels are the better choice because they run more quietly. If your door is under 150 lbs and the nylon wheels are worn, replace with nylon rather than upgrading to metal.

Do I need to replace the entire hanger assembly?

No — these wheels swap directly into your existing hanger brackets. You don't need to purchase a new hanger/roller set. If your hanger bracket itself is damaged, see our full roller set instead.

Are these compatible with bypass and bifold hardware?

Yes — compatible with all HVL hardware configurations. Practically speaking, the upgrade is most relevant for single-track setups carrying heavy solid-wood or glass doors. For standard-weight doors on bypass or bifold setups, the standard nylon wheels are sufficient.
