Panel width: Sized based on how much coverage you need over the opening — see the panel sizing section below for formulas and worked examples.

Panel height: Opening height + 1 in.

Panel thickness: 1 in to 2 in.

Ceiling clearance above door: 7 in required between the top of the door panels and the ceiling.

Wall clearance — both sides: Biparting requires clearance on both sides of the opening. For a fully clear opening, 6 in of clear wall is needed on each side — two panels fold into just 6 in of depth per side. A minimum 1/2 in clearance is also required between the end of the track and any adjacent wall on each pivot side — this allows the pivot-side panels to rotate freely during operation.

Wall header: A solid header above the opening is required for track mounting. If there is no existing header or backing in the wall, we recommend installing a minimum 1×6 hardwood board (3/4 in thick × 5-1/2 in wide) that extends past the length of the track to the next stud or structural support point on each side. Ceiling mount is not compatible with bifold hardware.

The 4-door biparting kit includes two complete 2-door roller sets — one for each side.

• Flat track (1) — in your selected length; tracks over 7 ft 6 in ship in multiple segments with a connecting plate included
• J top mount hangers/rollers (4) — 2 fixed and 2 loose, one fixed and one loose per side, all attach to the top edge of the door panels via wood screws
• Anchors (8) and screws (8) for top-edge hanger attachment
• Fixed roller lock brackets (2) — one per side
• Door hinges (6) — 3 per side
• Floor-mounted bottom pivots and locators (2) — one per side
• Lag bolts · spacers · washers for track mounting (doubled quantities)
• Hex wrenches (6)

The fixed hanger on each side attaches to the top edge of the pivot-side panel. The loose hanger attaches to the top edge of the center-facing panel and travels freely along the track as the doors fold open. No hardware mounts to any door face.

Pull handles, a latch, and a flush pull are not included — add them before ordering to avoid a second shipment. Soft close is not compatible with bifold hardware.

4-door biparting sizing is based on total panel width — the combined width of all four panels — not the rough opening. Select the track length closest to your total panel width, rounding up to the next available size if needed. For a full walkthrough see our bifold measuring guide.

Minimum coverage (doors close over the opening with a small overlap on each side):
Total panel width = opening + 4 in · Each panel = (opening + 4 in) ÷ 4
Example: 60 in opening → total = 64 in → each panel = 16 in → select 66 in track

Fully clear opening (recommended) (equal overlap on both sides, opening fully unobstructed when open):
Total panel width = opening + 12 in · Each panel = (opening + 12 in) ÷ 4
Example: 60 in opening → total = 72 in → each panel = 18 in → select 72 in track

Because biparting splits symmetrically from the center, the installation looks balanced when open without extra panel sizing planning. Available track lengths: 54 in · 60 in · 66 in · 72 in · 79 in · 84 in · 90 in · 96 in · 108 in · 120 in · 132 in. If your required total panel width falls between listed lengths, round up to the next available size.
