Single Track Sliding Barn Door Hardware

A classic J-strap style single track sliding barn door hardware kit in a matte black finish, installed on a light-colored wood door with a single glass panel.

Single track sliding hardware runs one or two doors on a single track — one door sliding to one side, or two doors sliding away from each other (biparting) to fully clear an opening. We carry five Goldberg Brothers hanger styles plus a Quick Ship line that ships in 2–3 business days, with one J-strap kit in stock for next-business-day shipping. Capacities run from 75 lbs to 250 lbs depending on the hanger — see the comparison table below. Not sure which hanger style fits your door? Use our hardware finder.

Common Questions

For most installs involving solid wood doors, high-traffic use, or any door over 150 lbs, Goldberg Brothers is the right call. The engineering quality is meaningfully better and it shows over time. For a lightweight interior door on a tight budget where you need it to ship immediately, the Quick Ship line is a legitimate choice. If you're on the fence, email us your door specs and we'll give you a straight answer.

J-strap hangers are the most popular style — they attach to the front face of the door with a clean, streamlined profile. Horseshoe hangers wrap around the top edge of the door and are more visible but can handle slightly more weight (up to 250 lbs vs. 200 lbs for J-straps). For most residential installs, J-straps are the right choice unless you specifically need the extra capacity or prefer the look of a horseshoe.

Usually, yes — most Goldberg Brothers hardware is made to order, with a typical lead time of 10–15 business days before it ships. There are two faster exceptions. Our Quick Ship line is held in stock and ships in 2–3 business days, and one kit — the Quick Ship J-strap — is in stock and ships the next business day. If your timeline is tight, choose one of those or email us and we'll confirm what's fastest for the finish and configuration you need.

Any door that gets regular use in a bedroom, bathroom, or shared living space is a good candidate. Especially useful in homes with kids or on doors that share a wall with a bedroom. For low-traffic utility doors — pantry, laundry, storage — it's optional. It can be added at the product level before checkout or retrofitted after the fact if you decide you want it later.

Horseshoe hangers can technically handle up to 250 lbs, but for any door in that weight range we'd steer you toward heavy duty kits instead. They're built specifically for heavy doors, and the hardware is rated and designed for that load rather than approaching the upper limit of a standard kit.
